An OBS Group project has won a prize for innovation at the Personnel Today Awards 2009. Supermarket brand ASDA received the award in part because of the success of web applications developed by OBS and conceived by Criterion Partnership.
According to Personnel Today, the award "recognises effective approaches to the selection, recruitment and retention of employees at all levels". Judges also looked for signs of "...innovative ways to attract the right applicants".
To that end, the web solution developed by OBS Group played a crucial part in ASDA's triumph.
Based on a process designed by Criterion Partnership, the OBS development team helped build and implement a range of online job advertising, assessment and pre-selection tools.
This included assessment tests, applicant tracking software, job alerts, a careers site and integrated social media functions.
Some of the key results that caught the attention of Personnel Today judges include:
- A reduction in cost-per-hire of 88%
- Annual savings of £2.64m from the reduced hiring cost
- £60,000 press ad savings
