Specsavers Optical Group Limited – Specsavers Professional Selection

The Specsavers Professional Selection system is used to recruit suitable candidates to work at Specsavers. The application presents candidates with ability tests and a personality questionnaire. Candidates’ scores are automatically calculated by the system, generating an overall suitability score which indicates whether a candidate should progress to the next stage in the recruitment process.

The site includes extensive candidate management functionality and output is in the form of complex reports in .PDF format.

Government of Dubai DTCM - Dubai Expert

Developed for the Government of Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, the Dubai Expert trains and tests travel agents and tour operators on their knowledge of Dubai as a tourist destination.

Agents work through study modules on different aspects of tourism in Dubai. Their understanding is assessed at the end of each module and those that do not pass return to study the material again. At specified points the system automatically sends the user a dynamically generated PDF certificate merged with their name and completion date.

The training material on the website is all shown in Flash format, which allows the incorporation of a number of different multi-media formats where necessary. The system includes a messaging system from which DTCM can post messages on travel agents' online message boards and also send messages by email and SMS.

Homebase PLC – Home Candidate Recruitment website

Homebase Apply Online is a recruitment system which allows job applicants to Homebase to complete ability tests and a personality questionnaire, the results of which are used to gauge the applicant's suitability for a job at Homebase. There are two alternative versions of the system, one for management roles and one for graduates. The applicant management system indicates which applicants have reached the criteria for invitation to the next round of recruitment.

Output reports include dynamically created charts, paragraphs of narrative text and suggested interview questions, all of which are based on the responses given by the applicant.

British Tourism Week

The British Tourism Week website raises the profile of and acts as a focal point for the British Tourism Week initiative. The site features a large amount of background information which is fully content managed and can be edited by BTW staff.

The site allows event organisers to apply for British Tourism Week accreditation for events they are organising. If accreditation is granted, the organiser is automatically sent a media pack of images which can be integrated into their promotional materials. Other interested parties can send messages of support to BTW which are automatically published on the site once approved.

The site has a full Content Management system allowing BTW staff to edit page content themselves where required.

Informa PLC- i-law.com

Informa is the largest publicly-owned organiser of conferences and courses in the world with an output of over 10,000 events annually. They publish over 2,000 subscription-based information services including academic journals, real-time news and structured databases of commercial intelligence and their book business has more than 40,000 titles in print.

Informa were re-launching their flagship legal portal "i-law" and needed the expertise of OBS Group for the design and HTML development of the new site. OBS Group worked closely in consultation with Informa to formulate the right design for the new site. Our dedicated HTML and CSS developers then created fully compliant pages that were passed to Informa's in-house back-end developers.

The collaboration allowed Informa to use their own in-house developers supported by OBS Group's design and HTML/CSS creation skills, to produce a greatly improved finished website.
